Grandparents’ Day Adult/Child Workshop with Camille Santangelo
Sunday, September 7, 1 to 4 pm
Art can bridge the world between generations. One Adult / One child, learn and create art together in guided instruction. Works of art will be created by both the child and adult in a guided class exploring the topic.
For all ages. Limited to 10 Adult/Child pairs.
Wet Felting for Families Workshop with Lisa DeFrancesco
Saturday, September 20, 1 to 4 pm
Parents will attend with a child and together they will create a wet felted piece. It will be embellished with embroidery and hand stitches and then framed or hung. One or two children with each parent.
Ages 6 and up, 10 adults with one or two children each.

MODERN DRAWING with Vincent Joseph
Sunday, September 21, 1 to 4 pm
Modern artists around the turn of the 20th century began to see and imagine nature differently. Paul Klee's very basic lesson of taking a line for a walk combined with Cezanne's deep approach to perception come together in this drawing class. The overall awareness of drawing to actively engage the whole surface and the artist needs to account for a deeper understanding of nature through our subjectivity and gives us new ways to see and make art.
Ages 14 and up, 12 participants.

Art Independent Study with Jeanette Hernandez
First and fourth Sundays, 12:30 to 3:30 pm

On the first and fourth Sundays of each month, The Dove hosts an art independent study session with veteran certified NYS Art teacher, Jeanette Hernandez. Guests may enjoy the lovely setting and bring a work of art they have been creating or start something new. This is a fun opportunity to get some coaching from Jeanette and enjoy the camaraderie of other creatives. The Dove provides the materials to start a small canvas or drawing and easels, talbe, paints, pencils, pastels, and more. Or, artists are welcome to bring their own materials.
Upcoming dates: October 5 and 26, November 2 and 23, December 7 and 28. Note that this workshop on September 7.
Note: The independent study for September 7 was cancelled.

Embroidery on Clothes Workshop with Lisa DeFrancesco
Saturday, October 11, 10 am to 12 noon
Best if students come with some knowledge of threading a needle, making knots or knowing a few embroidery stitiches but we can do designs following stitching on clothes that don't require knowledge of embroidery. Students should bring jeans or a jean jacket.
Adults or children ages 10 and up accompanied by adult.

Mask Workshop with Paul Cook
Saturday, October 18, 1 to 4 pm
Come join us for mask making for your Halloween costume using ballons and papier mâché. We will paint and decorate.
All ages, 12 participants.

Still life workshop with Bernadette Bos
Sunday, October 19, 1 to 4 pm
Join Bernadette as she leads the class in painting a small still life of fruit on canvas. You will enhance your artistic expression focused on painting still life subjects by simplifying values and distinguishing light from shadow. This workshop will guide students in reducing their subjects down to their essential elements
Ages 18 and up, 10 participants.

Acrylic Painting with Steve Duprey
Saturday, October 25, 1 to 4 pm
Over the course of three hours, students will be taken, step-by-step through the process of creating a variety of landscape and still life paintings. Each student will receive close personal attention as they create the painting. Particular attention will be shown to creating the sense of light in each painting.
Ages 16 and up, 10 participants.

Holiday Ornament Painting Workshop

In cooperation with Geneva BID, The Dove invites children of all ages to paint holiday ornaments.
